In February of 2002, I lost my cat Vasi at 6 years of age to a heart problem. I was devastated not only because of her young age; but because I had in the previous 2 years also lost her two siblings and my mother.
Ten days later a friend shared she had a litter of 8 kittens. It was too soon, I told her. I was still grieving and it wouldn’t be fair to the new kitten.
As soon as I began playing with the kittens they lifted my spirits. Only one kitten would stop and lay on my lap from time to time. As my friend pointed that out, I said, “She’s not coming home with me, it’s too soon.”
After chatting for a bit, she finally understood that I had to do what felt right in my heart. Upon leaving I went to grab my purse and, lo and behold, that same kitten was curled up inside of it… asleep.
I always tell my clients and friends to ‘let the animal choose you,’ so I knew at that point that somehow, someway we would make it work.
Over the years, Sundance has never wavered from that strong sense of knowing and choosing what is right for her. Through her fearless actions and example, she consistently teaches me to speak my truth and shine my inner light.
She is also a Master Healer. Frequently with one of my clients, Sundance insists on participating in the session. She very carefully will lay on the area of their body that needs healing. She is always accurate and is so connected! I am and always will be grateful and blessed for her presence in my life.
